Steve McQueen’s Son Dies at 63: Discover the Surprising Lives of His 3 Kids

Chad McQueen, the son of famous actor Steve McQueen, died on September 11, 2024, in Palm Springs at age 63. Chad was known for his love of racing and his close bond with his family.

Even though Chad is no longer with us, his legacy continues through his children, who are carrying on the McQueen tradition in acting and racing.

Chad McQueen’s wife, Jeanie, and their children shared a touching message on social media.

They wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our father, Chad McQueen.

His remarkable journey as a loving father to us, along with his unwavering commitment to our mother, truly exemplified a life filled with love and dedication.”

The family’s statement added, “His passion for racing not only showcased his exceptional talent but also honored his father’s legacy, reflecting the values instilled in him.”

The McQueen family highlighted their dedication to carrying on the family legacy, saying, “He passed his passion, knowledge, and dedication to us, and we will continue both his and our grandfather’s legacies. As we navigate this difficult time, we ask for privacy while we remember and celebrate his extraordinary life.”

Chad McQueen was widely recognized for his role as Dutch in the 1984 film *The Karate Kid* and its 1986 sequel, *The Karate Kid Part II*. His portrayal of a Cobra Kai member left a lasting mark on ’80s pop culture.

Dutch, known for his tough and aggressive attitude, often urged his Cobra Kai teammates to bully the protagonist, Daniel LaRusso, played by Ralph Macchio. While Chad McQueen’s film career didn’t quite reach the legendary status of his father’s, he still made a memorable impact with roles in movies like *New York Cop* (1993) and *Red Line* (1995).
