Taylor Swift was faced with a scary situation while performing in Madrid, Spain, when she had to pause her show to motion for security to assist a fan in the crowd.
During the Folklore section of her Eras Tour on Thursday, May 30, Taylor called out, “Ayuda por favor,” which means “please help” in English. Swift paused her performance and stopped playing her acoustic guitar to gesture towards a concertgoer in distress.
It remains unknown what was going on with the fan, but Swift’s decision to pause the show alerted security’s attention, who rushed to help the concert goer.
What Happened At Taylor’s Madrid Concert

Swift was gracing Spain with her second concert at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. Throughout her Eras Tour, Swift has shown a consistent commitment to assisting fans in need. On May 24, while playing in Lisbon, she interrupted her performance of “Champagne Problems” to call for security assistance, saying, “Ajuda por favor. Help them please.”
Just a week prior, Swift exhibited similar concern during a show in Sweden. She addressed the crowd after noticing a cluster of flashlights being waved.
“When you guys are holding a bunch of flashlights up in a group does that mean people need help? Say yes if it means [that],” she asked. Upon receiving confirmation, she added, “OK, if I see that again I’m gonna try to put it out.”
Tragedy Has Struck The Eras Tour Before

Unfortunately, tragedy has struck the Eras tour before, with multiple deaths occurring leading up to several different performances , casting a dark shadow on the overall tour. In February, for instance, 16-year-old Mieka Pokarier, her mother, and her sister embarked on a journey from the Gold Coast to Melbourne to attend Taylor’s Australian show. However, their trip turned devastating when their SUV collided with a semi-truck.
The collision left Mieka’s 10-year-old sister, Freya, and mother, Kim, with severe injuries. Despite a swift response from emergency services, Mieka ultimately succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Moreover, just last year, Taylor’s Eras tour made headlines multiple times due to several fan deaths occurring shortly before her shows. In November, a death happened Rio de Janeiro just before Taylor’s scheduled appearance on Friday, November 17. 23-year-old Ana Clara Benavides Machado passed away while waiting outside the event. She suffered cardiac arrest, likely caused by sunstroke.
That same month, another fan, Gabriel Milhomen Santos, was fatally stabbed before he could attend her concert, also in Brazil.
For now, Swift hasn’t commented on the latest incident that caused her to pause her concert. But if one thing is clear, Taylor isn’t afraid to interrupt her show for the sake of her fans.
