One of the best parts of having a little girl are all of the cute kids clothes we can dress them in.
Boys’ clothes can be cute, too, but there’s just something about all of the options girls have that makes dressing them up so much fun.
That certainly seems to be how Kate Middleton feels, because she almost always matches her outfit to what Princess Charlotte is wearing.
Of course, Kate has a stylist who probably helps with the children’s clothing, too, but the matchy-matchy attire happens so frequently that it seems to be Kate’s choice to coordinate clothing with her daughter.
Sometimes, the Duchess will go low-key and only match her accessories — like her hat, jewelry, bag, or shoes — to Charlotte’s outfit. Other times, Kate will go full out with the matching color schemes. Check out these 20 times that Charlotte was Kate’s style mini-me.
Matching from the beginning
Kate started off her coordination game early. Her yellow ombre dress fades to white toward the bottom, which gives the illusion that the baby blanket is actually becoming part of her outfit. Where does Charlotte’s blanket end and Kate’s dress begin?
Charlotte’s christening
All three of Kate’s kids have gotten christened in the same long, cream lace gown, and Kate has matched all of them in a white or cream ensemble herself. Things were no different for Charlotte’s christening in July 2015. It’s the perfect color palette for the day.
Skiing in style
During a family skiing holiday in the French Alps, Kate and her family posed for this photo. As with Charlotte’s christening day, Kate matched the two of them in white and cream jackets, while the boys opted for darker blue tones. Of course, Charlotte gets to stand out a bit from her mom in her cute pink hat.
Blush tones
For Charlotte’s first balcony appearance at the annual Trooping the Colour parade, Kate dressed her daughter in a soft pink dress. Kate’s own outfit is white, but she matched her blush-colored hat to Charlotte’s gown to keep things coordinated.
Shades of blue
During a tour of Canada, Kate went with a dark blue dress for herself and a light blue frock for Charlotte. But she put Charlotte in darker blue shoes to match her own dress. Kate may not be the Queen of England but she is the queen of outfit coordination.
Royal in red
Red is the perfect Christmastime color, and Kate definitely got that memo for Charlotte’s first holiday church appearance. Kate then matched Charlotte’s red tights, dress, and bow to her own red purse.
Wedding coordination
The credit for Kate’s blush dress matching Charlotte’s blush bow should probably go to Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton — it was Pippa’s wedding after all. The younger Middleton sister likely decided on the color scheme, and Kate and Charlotte just stuck to it.
Still cute, though — no matter whose idea it was.
Pretty in pink
For the 2017 Trooping the Colour parade, Kate went uber-feminine with both her look and little Charlotte’s. They are both so gorgeous in the bright pink shade. It was the perfect choice for the late spring event.
Royal blue
A quick trip to Germany and Poland provided a peek at this adorable matchy-matchy look. Kate’s coat dress and Charlotte’s floral one are both beautiful shades of blue, and we love that Kate even had Charlotte’s little bow match, too.
