Tom Cruise’s recent shirtless photos shocked fans, as his so-called saggy skin contradicted with the youthful appearance Tom remains known for, despite him being in his sixties.
According to a new report, the action star goes to great lengths (and spends a pretty penny) to maintain his looks, even if his age appears to be catching up to him.
“He does work out like a madman and eats ultra clean and embraces all the skincare and beauty treatments he can get his hands on, including ice baths, massages and fancy facials,” an insider recently claimed to In Touch.
Tom Reportedly Pays Big Money To Maintain His Looks

“He spends a fortune on keeping his whole body in youthful shape. But he’s only human, which is why he’s needed a lot of restorative work, including lipo and Botox,” they went on. “Sometimes it doesn’t look great right after a procedure when he appears chipmunked, but he’s pleased with the results.”
“Once it settles down, Tom has just the right amount of crow’s feet to make it look deceptively natural,” they continued. “The last thing he wants is being stuck with man boobs and love handles. He had them sucked away time after time.”
The source added, “He’s clearly cheated his way to a fit body, but as long as there are excellent box office receipts, studio execs won’t mind.”
When shirtless photos of Cruise surfaced online earlier this month, leaving some fans stunned by his appearance, several medical experts came forward to explain why they think Tom’s torso skin is sagging, offering different reasons.
Doctors Explain What’s Going On With Cruise’s Looks

According to plastic surgeon Dr. David Hill, who spoke with the Daily Mail, Tom’s excess skin around his midsection might be attributed to liposuction. “Usually, if you lose weight naturally over time, you get less of that skin rippling and irregularity, because it’s gradual,” he said.
Liposuction, a surgical intervention aimed at eliminating localized fat deposits, particularly in areas like the abdomen, thighs, hips, and buttocks, is known for its ability to sculpt the body by removing stubborn fat pockets. This procedure entails using a suction method to extract fat cells, which, in some cases, can lead to laxity in the skin post-surgery.
“With liposuction, because it’s more immediate, the skin doesn’t have time to contract as much… so Tom’s Cruise’s saggy skin could be a hallmark of [liposuction],” Dr. Hill added.
Dr. Hill, who emphasized he has no professional involvement with Cruise, refrained from definitively stating whether the actor underwent liposuction. However, he speculated that if Cruise did opt for the cosmetic enhancement, it was likely performed by a skilled surgical team.
“I don’t see any hallmarks of irregular contour on his body that would suggest bad liposuction, but there is enhanced muscle definition, which is reflective of his earlier photos when he was younger,” he elaborated. “If they did it, they did it well.”
However, another medical expert shared with the Daily Mail that, in their professional assessment, Tom’s changing looks is indicative of the natural aging process.
“In any 61-year-old guy you would expect to have some skin sagging because as we get older, we lose that elasticity in our skin,” Dr. Howard Sobel, a cosmetic dermatologic surgeon practicing at New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital, explained. “The areas of your chest, and the areas below your chest, the skin around your ribs and your abs are very often the first to lose the elasticity, especially in a man.”
For now, Cruise hasn’t commented on the speculation surrounding his looks.
