After some tough times with previous relationships, Valerie Bertinelli has confirmed she has a new boyfriend.
She shared the news on Instagram with a sweet post, letting everyone know she’s now off the market.
The 63-year-old, who divorced her ex-husband Tom Vitale two years ago and lost her first husband, Eddie Van Halen, four years ago, made her new relationship Instagram official last Friday.
She posted a selfie with a caption using lyrics from the Taylor Swift song “So High School,” which is reportedly about her current boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
Bertinelli wrote in the caption: “? I’ll drink what you think and I’m high from smokin’ your jokes all damn night ?”
According to Entertainment Tonight, Valerie Bertinelli’s new boyfriend is Mike Goodnough, a writer known for his popular blog, the Hoarse Whisperer.
Earlier this month, Bertinelli stirred up rumors when she told USA TODAY: “I’ve met someone. And I’m incredibly grateful for him.
“It’s a different kind of relationship for me. I don’t want to say too much, but I feel very blessed and lucky to have met him. I thought I’d be happy spending my life with my six cats and my dog.”
Mike Goodnough confirmed that he’s dating Valerie Bertinelli in his Substack essay titled “Rumors, Rumors, Rumors…”. In the essay, he humorously described asking Bertinelli if the rumors were true. He wrote that he asked her, “Is there any truth to the rumor you are dating me? Care to comment?”
He said Bertinelli replied, “It’s true. I totally am. You’re my boyfriend.”
In her new cookbook, Indulge, which came out on April 12, Bertinelli talked about her past marriage to Eddie Van Halen.
She wrote that even though they divorced, they never stopped loving each other. She also mentioned that if it weren’t for cancer, they might have had another chance at love, though she admitted that might be just wishful thinking.
alerie Bertinelli said she started following Mike Goodnough on social media around 2016 or 2017. He followed her back in 2018, and they started messaging each other, probably after her divorce from Tom Vitale in 2022.
She described Goodnough as a “really super funny, incredibly talented writer.”
In an interview with PEOPLE Magazine this month, Bertinelli shared that she’s in love. She admitted it’s been an emotional ride because she had promised herself she would never fall in love again.
We’re glad to see Valerie happy!
