Victoria Beckham is known for her statuesque demeanour and fierce personality, but the former Spice Girl recently opened up about what it’s been like being perceived as so harsh.
In a candid moment, Victoria explained her stern demeanour stems from a place of insecurity, not because she has an uptight personality.
Victoria Says She’s Not So Serious In Person
In the past, I’ve always looked at those red carpet pictures of me and seen a woman who looks nervous and insecure. Everyone else saw a woman who looked grumpy and stern — I suppose that’s how I got the reputation of being such a miserable cow,” she told The Sunday Times.
However, Victoria says she’s seen a change in her public persona recently, admitting, “I looked at some pictures of myself recently, and was really struck by how happy I looked.”
A source echoed a similar sentiment to Life & Style recently, explaining the fashion designer is much different in person than what the public perceives her to be based on photos.
“Behind closed doors, Victoria is very loving,” the insider said. “but she’s also quite controlling and super protective of her family. People would be surprised to learn that she can be silly, too — she’s not always as serious as people make her out to be.”
David fell in love with the funny, playful Victoria,” they added. “But no one, outside of her family and close friends, really gets to see that side of her.”
Why The Beckhams Are Feuding With Mark Wahlberg
While Victoria was honest about her insecurities in the new interview, one thing she didn’t comment on was her husband David Beckham’s ongoing lawsuit against Mark Wahlberg after decades of friendship.
The actor’s relationship took a sour turn, both professional and personally, after attempting a joint venture in the fitness industry, leaving Beckham feeling shortchanged to the tune of $10.5 million.
The lawsuit, filed by Beckham’s company DB Ventures Ltd (DBVL) last month, alleges that Wahlberg’s firm, the Mark Wahlberg Investment Group (MWIG), along with F45 founders Adam Gilchrist and Rob Deutsch, misled Beckham into collaborating with F45.
Initially, Beckham joined F45 as its global ambassador upon relocating to Los Angeles. However, he claims significant financial losses ensued when promised stocks were withheld until after share prices plummeted.
Beckham asserts he should have earned £8.5 million from the deal (approximately $10 million USD) and is now seeking compensation.
In response, Wahlberg and his co-defendants have denied the allegations and moved to dismiss the lawsuit, contending that DBVL’s claims are baseless attempts to shift blame onto others.
For now, the lawsuit remains ongoing, though it appears like the Beckham’s relationship with Wahlberg may be over for good.
